Hello,

***For the instructions below, be sure you can access the databases. To do so, visit library.uta.edu and click Databases A-Z on the left menu. That will take you to an alphabetical list of databases. To shorten the list to relevant items, choose "Nursing" where it says "All Subjects." The databases I mention below are all linked there.***

---

Try searching in PubMed. You can put in broad terms like pressure ulcers or foam dressing and begin to get results. From there, you can narrow down using options on the left. There is an "Article Types" header. Below it, click Customize... There, you will find randomized controlled trials. Check the box next to it and press Show. Now, below "Article Types," you can click to narrow to only RCTs.

Next, you can limit to nursing articles. Here are the steps: Click Show additional filters on the bottom of the left menu, then choose to Show "Journal Categories." When the Journal Categories options show on the left, click Nursing journals below it.

---

For EBP articles, you can also search in PubMed, or you can look at Joanna Briggs EBP Database, BMJ Best Practice, or at trustworthy websites from governmental agencies or nursing associations.
